Virginia tattoo day 4 - 19th Apr 2018

Virginia tattoo day 4 We started off our final day in New York bright and early to see the Charging Bull on Wall Street and then head across to Liberty Island. It was a chilly ferry ride but worth it to see the Statue of Liberty up close. We then carried on the ferry ride to Ellis Island, the most heavily trafficked immigration point in America through the early 20th century. After taking the ferry back to Manhattan the team split up to enjoy several different options exploring New York. This included the Brooklyn Bridge, the Natural History Museum, the United Nations, Grand Central Terminal and of course some time for shopping.

In the evening the team joined back up to do The Ride, a bus tour around Central Manhattan featuring actors dancing and singing for us on the streets. We then turned from audience to entertainers as we took the opportunity to do a flash mob dance outside Winter Garden Theatre. The cars that stopped in the street to watch certainly suggests the New York crowd loved it! Finally, we put the audience hats back on to enjoy dinner at Stardust, featuring live entertainment from up and coming Broadway stars (although we didn’t hesitate to join in with most songs).

An absolutely jam-packed day has left us all happy and exhausted. We’ll miss New York but are excited for what the rest of our travels hold!
