How We Operate
The Academy Annual General Meeting is open to all financial Academy members and is hosted in different cities around the country each year. The AGM weekend also includes a Youth Forum, the Dance Development Course, and the Solo Seal Examination which is open to the public.

The Academy has an Executive Committee which meets three times a year. The Committee comprises the President and four member representatives who are elected from the membership, two liaison officers elected by the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand, the Director of the Academy’s Technical Committee, and the Secretary Treasurer appointed by the committee to undertake the Academy’s day to day business under their direction.

The Academy’s Technical Committee is responsible for maintaining the Academy’s traditional technique, compiling its syllabuses, conducting examinations, and preparing and delivering Academy Seminars and Dance Development Courses. Appointments to the Technical committee are made by the Executive Committee
