Examinations
The Academy has compiled an extensive range of examinations, medal tests and assessments aimed at providing the dancer with a steady progression from young beginner to a knowledgable and competent performer. After completion, the New Zealand Dancer will have a sound background in the history, theory and practical aspects of Highland and National Dancing and be able to train and adjudicate others in their turn. Examination sessions are held twice yearly throughout the country.

Ongoing Training
The Academy offers additional ongoing training by way of Seminars and Dance Development Courses. A special Dance Development Course is held yearly in conjunction with the Academy Annual Conference. This offers instruction on various aspects of our dancing, teaching and judging. Outside experts are often co-opted to share their expertise.
